Locomotive 1472 was to be the London and North Eastern Railway's star attraction for the British Empire Exhibition at Wembley in 1924. For this event it was renumbered to 4472 and named after the LNER's flagship service, the 'Flying Scotsman' from London to Edinburgh. It also had an LNER Coat of Arms applied to it's footplate doors. All exposed metal on the locomotive was polished to a glorious shine and the locomotive stood resplendent throughout the course of the event.

This Limited Edition model of this most well known of locomotive's is finished with 18ct Gold Plated Wheels and Valve Gear.
