This 7-plank wagon represents an example operated by the Lothian Coal Company under the name "Newbattle". This colliery was connected to the former Waverley Route, part of the new line now opened. An example of this wagon has been preserved at the National Mining Museum Scotland, at Newtongrange, also a station on the re-opened route. The livery of black, with white lettering shaded red, comes complete with the thistle insignia.
