Following the success of the original 2-door 'In Vogue', Rover recognised the potential to take the Range Rover decisively upmarket. The answer arrived in August 1982 with the limited edition 4-door automatic 'In Vogue' Series 2. This exclusive variant was strictly limited to just 250 examples in each of two colours: Sierra Silver and Nevada Gold. Every vehicle featured distinctive graphics, alloy wheels, wooden door cappings, a branded cool box, and a Philips stereo system, showcasing a level of luxury previously unseen in the Range Rover lineup. The model also highlighted the newly available automatic transmission option. This particular Nevada Gold example has a fascinating provenance. Completed on 21st July 1982, it was dispatched immediately to Skinners Motors Ltd in St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex. Its first owner, Kent farmer Mr Cooper, purchased it on New Year's Day 1983 for £16,000 from Skinners' subsidiary, Bexhill Motors. Remarkably, this was his 17th Range Rover since buying his first in 1970, having ordered a new one annually throughout the decade. As his retirement vehicle, Mr Cooper treated it with exceptional care, rust-proofing it and servicing it on his own 4-post ramp while retaining all accessories and paperwork. The vehicle was acquired by The Dunsfold Collection of Land Rover related vehicles in November 2010, remaining in excellent original condition with just 80,000 miles. It has since appeared in numerous TV programmes, magazine articles and live events, cementing its status as an important example of Range Rover heritage.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Corgi","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53858405941587,"sku":"VA15701","price":37.99,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1028\/2985\/0963\/files\/Harburn_VA15701.jpg?v=1780668098","url":"https:\/\/www.harburnhobbies.co.uk\/products\/corgi-va15701-range-rover-the-first-production-range-rover-tuscan-blue","provider":"Harburn Hobbies","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
