Making A Purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our shop, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked to fill in your shipping destination, the next page asks for your full address and a few other details that we need to be able to complete the order. Choose your 'class of service' from the drop down list and enter any special delivery instructions in the box provided. For more details on your chosen delivery method see below.

We accept credit and debit card payment (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Delta, Solo and American Express). If you are shopping from outside the UK, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to your own currency.

Goods must be paid for in full before despatch. Credit/debit cards will not be debited until goods are ready for despatch. We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Backordered items are not charged until they are shipped.

When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under/overpriced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

We also accept written orders accompanied by a cheque in Pounds Sterling or UK postal orders. If paying by cheque please put your name and address on the back of the cheque and allow at least 10 days for it to clear through the bank.

Shipping And Handling

Orders should be despatched within 7 working days for items that are in stock. Delivery Schedule

If you have not received your goods within 28 days of despatch, please contact your local postal delivery office in case they tried to deliver and did not get a reply (sometimes a postcard will have been put through your door - but not always!) In the unlikely event that your parcel has gone missing please advise us and we will instigate a search.

Back Orders

With the exception of new items still to be released, we do not keep items on back order unless you request us to do so.

Tax Charges

For orders despatched to the UK (except Channel Islands, Isle of Man), 20% VAT is added.

All other destinations are VAT free. Non UK customers are responsible for any duty or import taxes charged by their respective Customs Service upon the arrival of goods in their country. For more information customers should contact their respective customs service for details of any charges that may be levied, or regulations that may be applicable. Customers who do not pay these charges may have their parcel(s) returned to us by the customs service concerned. In the event of this happening the customer would forfeit the postage paid and would be liable for a second postage charge if they would like the parcel(s) to be re-sent.

Credit Card Security

For increased internet security, banks and credit card companies now insist that online transactions are handled by accredited Payment Service Providers. Harburn Hobbies use Sage Pay transaction services to handle web credit card payments (with 128 bit encryption). After completing the checkout procedure, you will be directed to the Sage Pay VSP secure server where you enter your credit card details. You will see a closed padlock to indicate that this is a secure site. Harburn Hobbies does not store credit card information.
