Welcome to Harburn Hobbies Online - Scotland's longest established model shop. | | Only 10 minutes walk from Edinburgh's Waverley station is one of the UK's oldest model shops, Harburn Hobbies. Situated on Leith Walk, Harburns is popular with local modellers, tourists and visiting personalities such as the performer Jimmy Osmond.
Well stocked with British trains '00' and 'N' gauge, railway DVDs, Scalextric, plastic construction kits, lots of various diecast vehicles and dolls house furnishings, many models are on display, each with a label giving their description and price in smart illuminated cabinets. Harburn Hobbies has been instrumental in commissioning a large number of limited edition models, many representing Scottish subjects
James Burns, a local professional sculptor and model maker produces rural buildings and a large range of accessories in 1/76th scale '00' exclusively for Harburn Hobbies. Known as 'Harburn Hamlet', these acclaimed ready made, ready coloured models are very popular. Enter the webshop to view the various ranges including wagon/lorry loads, small buildings, boats and accessories such as telephone kiosks and post boxes.
The Buildings Collection is only obtainable direct from Harburns, but the accessory ranges, Freight & Lineside, Country & Garden, Station & Street and Quayside Collections, are also sold by other model shops, distributed by Peco.
